B Street Theatre presents Pickleball by Jeff Daniels

From the Theatre’s Website:

Written by Jeff Daniels, the author of the B Street hit ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT, PICKLEBALL shows us all the possibilities of middle-aged athleticism and the human spirit. In America’s fastest growing game, there are no apologies, there are no excuses, and there is no room for weakness. When four below-average players have an opportunity to compete in a local tournament, they must learn to overcome their limitations and find greatness in a game that has nothing to do with pickles.

Seussical The Musical

Roseville Theatre Arts Academy (RTAA) Presents | Seussical the Musical

From the Theatre’s Website:

Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. Seussical is fun for the whole family!

Blood of the Lamb at B Street Theatre
Jul
26
to Aug 4

Blood of the Lamb at B Street Theatre

A woman fights for her life and a lawyer tries to do her job in a Kafka-esque drama about bureaucratic chaos in a post-Roe America. This hot-off-a-workshop-script dives unflinchingly into the heart of forced-birth issues. With a sometimes surreal style, BLOOD OF THE LAMB is a heartfelt (and heartbreaking) look at two women navigating the vagaries of the law which requires a dead fetus to be carried to term as an unborn 'citizen' of the state of Texas." Certainly a play of our current moment, as we find these women at opposite sides of the table amidst legal precedents, administrative madness, and moral obligation to humanity.
